Etceteras: moss and pussy willow nest

I think a bird nest is a nice decorative touch no matter what the season. I typically display a bird’s nest in the spring when they’re naturally in season and home to a mama bird and her eggs.

I thought it would be fun to make a fall nest – temporarily abandoned and waiting for a new family in the spring.

The base of this nest is made out twine and paper mache paste. I made them last spring and you can get the instructions from my previous post here

To add an autumn feel to these nests, I added some moss, twigs and faux pussy willows.

I may fill this little nest with nuts and leaves or leave it empty until spring.
