Inkling: fall leaf doily envelope

Today is Labor Day, a United States holiday that celebrates the contributions workers have made to our country. For most of us, Labor Day unofficially means the end of summer.

The crisp whites, pale blues, shells and driftwood will soon be replaced on our shelves and mantles with burnt orange, acorns and falling leaves. I’m not quite ready to make a full transition from summer to autumn yet but this doily autumn leaf envelope is helping me get in the fall mood.

I found these doily leaves at the Dollar Store and glued a few onto a piece of kraft paper that I had folded into an envelope. A bit of twine and twigs finish it off.

How about you? Are you ready to say goodbye to summer and head into fall?
To those of you in the U.S. – enjoy the holiday!

  3. oh, love your envelope Carolyn! The idea of fall being punctuated with "fall color" really doesn't exist here in Israel, as much of the country is hot year round, and there is no fall color to speak of. Where i live we do fortunately have fall and light winter, but with no fall color or pumpkins in sight well, I just enjoy all the photos on blog land!

  4. Thanks for sharing this adorable Fall design. I have to copy it for my sisters Oct birthday envelope. She'll love it. I purchased several colors of these leaves a few weeks back. Fall has taken over my Christmas spirit. Love everything about it.Especially the crispness in the air!!
