Upcycling: sequin candles

I’m not much of a glitter, sequin person. But there’s something about the holidays that brings out the sparkle in all of us.

For the red sequin candle, the sequins are stuck into the candle with sewing pins. Cut the pins using a wire cutter to a desired length and push the pin through the sequin hole. The green and gold sequins are glued onto the candle.

As with any embellished candle, use caution when burning them. These sequin candles are going to be used as decorative pieces and not burned.

What a transformation - from plain white candles to dressed up tapers.

  1. These are beautiful! I think tapers might be the most boring candles of them all, and you've dressed them up and made them really stand out. Love it. I featured you today on my favorite things :)

  9. I bet those look lovely when lit, with the candlelight bouncing off the sequins.

  10. Carolyn, these are brilliant! Thanks for submitting them to DSC - look for them to be featured in a roundup this week!

And we are still on for your CROQ article - there were delays with the printing of the last issue, so the new issue got put on the back burner for a bit! I will keep you informed! :)

  12. So lovely, would the sequins impair the way the candle burns or be at all dangerous though?

    1. Yes, I would just use these as decorative candles as I note in my post.
